Stonepillow has two charity shops that receive donations of furniture and white goods to provide funding to support the delivery of Stonepillow services and also to help furnish our properties. Both stores are open 7 days a week and we have the following roles available:

Sales Assistant (Chichester and Bognor Regis)

We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic people, who enjoy serving customers and managing the shop floor. Donated items require checking, sorting, cleaning and displaying. Apply Now

Sales Assistant/Receptionist (Chichester)

Our Chichester store receives a huge number of donations daily and we rely heavily on our dedicated volunteers to assist in sorting, moving, repairing and displaying items. We are looking for organised, friendly people who enjoy customer facing roles, dealing with general enquiries and booking deliveries and collections on our computer system. Apply Now

Goods-In Volunteer (Chichester)

We are looking for an organised, friendly and enthusiastic person to assist in the coordination of donated goods. You will be the first point of contact for people wishing to donate so customer service skills and diplomacy are essential. If you feel you have these skills, we want to hear from you! Apply Now

Hubs & Hostels

Volunteer Translators (Bognor Regis)

We are looking for volunteers to help us communicate with our Eastern European clients. Ideally you will be able to give one or two hours a week to come to our Hub in Clarence Road, Bognor Regis, to help translate between our staff and clients.

A non-judgemental approach is essential, and we are looking for people who can speak or have a basic understanding of any of the following languages: Russian, Bulgarian, Ukrainian, Czech-Slovak and Polish. You will be required to sign and adhere to a confidentiality agreement, in line with Stonepillow’s policies and procedures. Apply Now

Food Collection Volunteers (Chichester and Bognor Regis)

We are looking for volunteers to help us collect surplus food, from local cafes and supermarkets, and deliver it to our Hubs and Hostels so we can provide nutritious meals for our clients. You can sign up to assist with collections that are convenient for you, by either using our online food collection rota (which details pick-up locations and times) or by liaising with our Volunteer Coordinator.

Most pick-ups require a car however some can be done on-foot within the town centres. Please be aware, you will need to have your own vehicle and check with your insurer that you are covered for this type of volunteering. Stonepillow cannot accept liability for any accidents that may occur. Apply Now

Fundraising & Events

We rely heavily on fundraising and events to support the work we do and are always in need of volunteers to assist our fundraising team.

Volunteer Street Collector (Chichester, Bognor Regis and surrounding areas)

We are looking for confident, friendly people willing assist with our bucket collections at various locations. This could be in a town centre, at a supermarket or a garden centre. We ask that you sign up to a one or two hour slot at a time that is convenient for you. If you feel more comfortable buddying up with someone, that is absolutely fine! We will just need an application form from each person. Apply Now

Big Sleep Out Volunteer (Chichester and Bognor Regis)

The Big Sleep Out is our biggest fundraising event where participants are sponsored to sleep out for one night to help raise vital funds to support the work we do. The event does not aim to replicate homelessness but does give a small insight into some of the realities of rough sleeping.

We need lots of volunteer support including set up, registration, serving food/drink, helping with cardboard shelters, marshalling, bucket collecting and clear down. You will be sent all the relevant information prior to the event and we always provide feedback after to let you know the grand total raised.
