The Big SleepOut 2016

Stonepillow’s annual Big SleepOut took place at Chichester Cathedral on Saturday 15th - Sunday 16th October 2016
Despite torrential downpours on Saturday night and early on Sunday morning, participants rose to the challenge and slept rough in the Grounds and Cloisters of Chichester Cathedral. Around 115 people built, and slept in, cardboard shelters to raise money for Stonepillow. Funds will go towards helping homeless and vulnerable people in Chichester and surrounding areas to get off the streets for good.
This year’s event was sponsored by George Ide Solicitors and Partner Ursula Watt joined Stonepillow Chairman of the Trustees Shelagh Legrave, Mayor of Chichester Peter Budge and Actor Christopher Timothy to judge the Shelter Building Competition. The prize for Best Shelter went to Jon and Freja Munn.
Dynamic Dance Company performed a ‘Flash Mob’ during the day and evening entertainment was kindly provided by Chichester Festival Youth Theatre, who gave an amazing performance, and the fantastic South Downs Ukulele Orchestra. The Big SleepOut takes place every year.
