Spruce up for Stonepillow!

Over two days, two teams of twelve eager volunteers from Mercer Limited’s Employee Health & Benefits department in Chichester, joined us at the Stonepillow Chichester Hostel in Hunston Road.
Sixty litres of White Mist, kindly donated by Dulux Decorator Centre, five rollers and countless paintbrushes later… the results are breathtaking. The team also found time to do some much needed strimming outside!
“The teams from Mercer enjoyed helping Stonepillow immensely under the ‘Mercer Cares’ initiative” said Matthew Shute, Associate, Mercer Marsh Benefits. “We gained a great deal of satisfaction knowing that our efforts have made a contribution to improving the site for residents and it was great to see the passion that Stonepillow staff apply to their daily work. We are proud to have helped a very worthy cause in the community.”
The 10 bedroomed hostel in Hunston Road, was definitely in need of some TLC, having seen in excess of two hundred people pass through, seeking refuge and safety, in the past year alone.
The Hostel is the first stop for homeless people in this area who wish to get off the streets for good. Here clients receive the support they need to help get their lives back on track before moving on to the various other shared accommodation that Stonepillow supply, staff and fund. This is all made possible through a combination of West Sussex County grants and funds raised by the community.
