Stonepillow Lodge provides accommodation for homeless people over the age of 18 who are discharged from St Richard’s Hospital or who may not be suitable for a traditional hostel environment due to their health needs. Building work was funded by Chichester District Council, the Homes and Community Agency, the Hospital Discharge Fund and Stonepillow.
There are five studios for independent living. Facilities include an individual kitchen and dining area, a shower, bathroom and a communal area with a laundry room. The service is managed by our trained and highly qualified Hostels Management team and our Move-on accommodation will potentially be offered once clients have recovered.
In 2014, 80 people were discharged from hospitals in the Chichester and Arun districts, with nowhere to live and without support. Before Stonepillow's involvement homeless people were not even identified. Now Stonepillow's Hostels Manager works closely with medical personnel from St Richards Hospital in identifying, from the outset, the needs of those admitted who are homeless.
