Whipped and Baked Coffee Shop Supporting Homeless
A new artisan coffee shop in Guildhall Street, Chichester, selling homemade cakes and local produce, will be welcoming customers to support their Suspended Coffee project. When you buy your coffee, you can pay an extra £1 and the owners, John and Aida, will “bank” two coffees for their less fortunate patrons. This will allow those who couldn’t normally afford to buy a proper Americano coffee to pop in, feel welcomed, and get a delicious take-away coffee to lift their spirits.
The tradition originated in the working class cafés of Naples, Italy, and is now being adopted by independent coffee shops around the world.
Whipped & Baked will be encouraging users of the scheme to engage with Stonepillow’s services. John and Aida also donate spare cakes and bread to The Hub, and are looking to expand their food donations to Stonepillow by involving their local suppliers.
