Marks & Spencer Spark Something Good for Stonepillow

This is not just any refurbishment, this is an M&S refurbishment!

Last month Stonepillow welcomed over 40 M&S staff, from both the Portfield Chichester and Bognor Regis stores, to transform our six-bed supported accommodation in Bognor Regis. In just three days the M&S team completely transformed the communal areas of the 3-storey house. The decorating was led by one of our clients which included the renovation of two kitchens, two bathrooms and all of the hallways, stairs and landings - they even found time to mow the lawn and spruce up the garden!

At Stonepillow, it is vital that we provide a safe, positive and uplifting environment to enable our clients to make positive changes in their lives. Our supported accommodation is a key part of the Stonepillow journey and our clients receive tailored support to help with their transition into independent accommodation. Geoffrey Willis, Stonepillow CEO, was thrilled with the results and said the M&S team should be ‘enormously proud of themselves’ because their hard work, energy and determination had ‘completely transformed the place.’

Paul Gregory, Store Manager of M&S Portfield said: “We were really pleased to support Stonepillow. Volunteering can make a profound difference to the communities in which we live, work and play – we believe that lots of the small actions from lots of people can collectively have a huge impact.” M&S have recently launched their #SpenditWell campaign which is about inspiring people to make every moment special by focusing on the experiences, people and things that really matter in life.

We are so grateful to the M&S team, without their planning, preparation and hard work this would not have been possible. M&S captured the transformation on camera for us to share with you. Watch the video here

We would also like to say a huge thank you to Dulux Chichester for their kind donation of paint. In addition to this, we were fortunate enough to be able to furnish the property using items from Stonepillow Restore that have been donated from the general public. We could not run our services without the support of individuals and organisations in our local community.
