When is the Stonepillow Big Sleepout 2016?
From 12:30pm on the Saturday 15th October to 8:30am on Sunday 16th October
What time does the shelter building competition start?
The shelter building competition starts at 1:00pm.
How do I register?
You can register by clicking here. The registration fee is £10 per person. (All proceeds go directly to Stonepillow)
What are the age restrictions?
There is no minimum age to take part in the Big Sleepout. Participants under 18 must have the appropriate number of responsible adults:
Children aged 14 and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult (maximum 4 children per responsible adult).
If young people, aged 11 – 18 years, are attending as part of a school or youth group then, subject to the above, a responsible adult must accompany every 8 young people.
Parents will need to complete a Parental Consent Form for all young people under 18 years. Download your form here and return by post to Stonepillow, St Joseph’s, Hunston Road, Chichester, PO20 1NP or by email to email@example.com
Can I bring my friends?
We would love you to bring your friends, family, colleagues, school, church or youth club members to come together and take part in our fantastic fundraising event.
Will I be safe?
We have extensive policies and procedures to ensure the safety of all involved and all activities will be fully supervised. First Aid cover is supplied by our staff and will be available for the duration of the event.
All activities will take place within Cathedral grounds. Security will be on duty throughout the night, making regular patrols and ensuring the safety of the site.
Where will I sleep?
The sleeping area is located on the south side of the Cathedral and in the South and East Cloister.
Will I get any sleep?
'Lights out' will be 10:00pm.Water will be available throughout the night.
What if it rains?
In the unfortunate event that it rains, the quality of our cardboard shelters will be put to the test! In severe weather the Cloisters offers additional shelter.
What do I need to bring?
It will get cold during the night, whatever time of year, therefore the most important thing is to ensure that you remain warm and dry. We suggest that you bring:
• A sleeping bag
• Groundsheet or sponge mat
• Warm and waterproof clothing, including socks, gloves and a hat.
• Torch (with batteries)
How much money am I expected to raise?
£150.00 is a good target for sponsorship (please feel free to raise more if you can!) every penny counts. Head to JustGiving to set up your very own sponsorship page. All online donations go straight to Stonepillow, so we know how much money is being generated and can announce the total raised on the night of The Big SleepOut!
