Business support needed for the Big Sleep Out
Stonepillow’s annual fundraising event, the Big Sleep Out, takes place in the grounds of Chichester Cathedral. Participants get sponsored to sleep outside for a night to raise vital funds for the homeless and increase awareness of the issue in our local area. Every penny will go directly towards providing essential support to local homeless people within our community.
As previous winners of the Observer award for Best Community Event, we are proud to host a fundraising event that reflects local residents and businesses working together. Why not take advantage of this fantastic opportunity and get your organisation involved to support a worthy cause whilst raising your profile in the local and wider community. Here's how:
Participate in the Big Sleep Out
We invite you and your colleagues to abandon your comfort zones and take on the challenge of swapping your beds for cardboard shelters. Take part in our shelter competition by designing and building shelters before putting them to the test for the night! Or why not challenge your boss to sign up? Not only is this a great team building exercise but you also get a great sense of satisfaction knowing you have made a real difference to the work we do.
Sponsor the Big Sleep Out
We are looking for local businesses to sponsor the event to cover overhead costs such as equipment hire, entertainment, advertising etc. which will help us boost the overall funds raised. In return for your sponsorship we will include your logo on all of our event marketing materials, our website, social media and in our newsletter. You will also be invited to judge the shelter competition on the day and attend a special service in the evening to thank everyone for their involvement.
Donate to the Big Sleep Out
We are also looking for organisations to support us by providing resources for the event such as:
- Materials for the shelter competition – cardboard, large tape, scissors, glue, art and crafts/miscellaneous items.
- Infrastructure support & materials – such as marquees, chairs, tarpaulin, blankets etc.
- Food and drink – we need to provide refreshments for approx. 150 participants, staff and volunteers throughout the event.
- Prizes - for the winners of the shelter competition and for the highest fundraiser/(s).
