Brian is delighted, he slept rough for 11 years and now he has a home.
Brian’s flat is an extra care facility linked to adult social services in Chichester. It has a bedroom, living room, kitchenette, wet room and equipment to help him cope with his mobility problems. Here, Brian will be given ongoing support from a specialist staff team and care staff from ERA Health Care will help him with his needs.
What’s the first thing you would buy for your home after sleeping rough for 11 years?
Stonepillow Hostels Team Leader, Sarah, went with Brian to help him buy what he needed to make his new flat feel like home. His first household purchase in 11 years was a brand new fridge freezer. Brian bought additional furniture, including an electric bed, from Stonepillow Restore. Now, more than anything Brian would like a budgie to keep him company and this will be his next purchase. As far as he is concerned, “Life couldn’t get any better”. Sarah said “My job can be hard sometimes but days like today make me so proud of Stonepillow and how we can help someone to transform their life.”
