Big Sleep Out Terms and Conditions

By registering for the Big Sleep Out, you agree to the following T’s & C’s:

  1. Only registered participants may take part in the Big Sleep Out. You must have registered prior to the event as an individual or as a group.
  2. This is a fundraising event and we ask you to aim to raise a minimum of £250 per person. You will have until 31st December 2017 to reach this target. You will be provided with support and guidance every step of the way.
  3. Anyone under the age of 18 must also download and complete a parental consent form and return this to admin@stonepillow.org.uk no later than Friday 22nd September 2017. Failure to do so may result in you being unable to take part in the event.
  4. Please arrive at the event at 3:00pm on Saturday afternoon and head straight to the Registration tent. All participants need to be ready to leave the event on Sunday morning by 8:00am.
  5. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are healthy enough for sleeping out overnight. If in doubt, please seek medical advice.
  6. We strongly advise you to dress and prepare appropriately for the event with layers of warm clothing, a warm sleeping bag and camping mat for insulation, as this event is held outside.
  7. You are responsible for your own weather protection and comfort. The ground is likely to be cold and damp, possibly muddy, so it is essential to have something insulating and something waterproof to lie on as well as to cover you. A combination of cardboard and plastic sheeting is often used.
  8. During the event you are responsible for your own, and your teams, safety and security. You must agree to take reasonable care not to compromise other participants' safety and security.
  9. At the end of the event please take away everything you brought with you, including empty bottles, food containers and building materials other than the cardboard provided by Stonepillow.
  10. Stonepillow accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to your personal belongings during the event. We strongly advise you not to bring valuables.
  11. Drugs and alcohol are not permitted during the event. Any participant believed to be under the influence will be required to leave the event.
  12. Smoking is not permitted at the event.
  13. No animals are permitted at the event with the exception of guide dogs.
  14. Please be respectful of those trying to sleep. If you are chatting or disruptive whilst others are trying to sleep, you will be asked to move to another area.
  15. In the event of an emergency you must follow directions given by Stonepillow staff.
  16. You must comply with all instructions and directions from Stonepillow staff. Failure to do so may result in you being required to leave the event.
  17. By taking part, all participants confirm that they are happy for their photographs/footage to be taken during the Big Sleep Out which may be used for future marketing/fundraising purposes.
  18. Registration fees are non-refundable for this event.
  19. Stonepillow reserves the right to cancel or alter the event without notice.
